This society promotes the interaction of ecologist and student that want to pursue graduate school in ecology. As well, this organization serves as a liaison of minority students and scientists that want to foster communications and make decisions about what is better for our ecosystem.

SACNAS is a society of scientists dedicated to fostering the success of Hispanic/Chicano and Native American scientists, from college students to professionals, to attain advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership in science. SACNAS achieves mission impact through outcome-based programming and initiatives.
* I was part of the CoHemis-UPRM SACNAS chapter as a member and also as an officer (President, Vicepresident, Historian and Board Member between 2011-2014).
